Spin Class

This class is taught by:

Kelly Olver

Kelly's love for sports started at a young age – Dancing, running athletic races and cross country, water skiing and being a fierce Wing Attack Netball player in NZ from age 11. Her sport CV is as impressive as her big smile and “ready to rock and roll” 6am morning mood! It’s a solid sweat session you are about to experience.
When she’s not on the bikes, or out running the streets, Kelly is quite the foodie enjoying cooking, discovering the restaurants of Shanghai, traveling (to discover more foods of the world, or the best beaches to get a good tan). Join Kelly on the bikes for an early morning calories burning, heart thumping Spin class!

Alex Bronder

A.K.A. "The Juice-in-ator"
"Press de siste dråper saft ut av sitronen or squeeze the last droplets of juice out of the lemon." This is how they do it in Norway. Just when you think you've maxed out in his power interval training class style, he manages to push and push so that you give that little extra you think you didn't have. Oh, and it's not with smiles and giggles either as this Norwegian, who comes from a lineage of 11 generations of military officers, shouts "GO,GO, GO!" during his super sprint speed drills. Perhaps he missed his calling as a Sergeant but Spinbackers are lucky to burn off major calories and enjoy his American side with good taste in music. Heavy climbing with some thumping beats in class, catch "Pompei" by Bastille and "Something New" with Axwell Ingress as the switch and bait happy warm up. When not on the bike, Alex is an avid gym goer and skies in the winter (born with skis on). So when you see him in class and ask yourself, "Really, can the human body really pedal that fast?" think of his mantra for all you Spinbackers: "You have to do what others won't, to achieve what others don't."

Abby Nesseth

Meet Abby, originally from rural Minnesota in the United States she has been living in Shanghai for the past 9 years. For Abby, spinning and Shanghai came hand in hand after meeting Spinback’s Jenn Martinez who is known for her awesome ability to put playlists and music videos to match together. One class, and Abby was hooked, not least that Spinback came highly recommended to her as a spinning studio amongst the Shanghai and fitness community.

A fitness enthusiast for as long as she can remember, she has taken this passion to the people and is a certified RKC level 1 kettelbell instructor as well as an ACE certified personal trainer, and has now extended that passion to the Spinback studios where we welcome her as one of our newest instructors!

Being on the bikes allows the competitor in Abby to motivate not only herself, but others, which ensures you a great workout each and every time. Coupled with the performance metrics used in the Spinback studios, there’s nothing more she loves than pushing through a heavy hill climb and watching her watts skyrocket.

Abby strongly believes that exercise should be fun, and encourages all of those training with her to get involved, get fit, and become their best when on the bikes!

When she’s not spinning, swinging a kettlebell or swamped with grad school, Abby loves checking out Shanghai’s latest hot spots and is always on a quest to find the best quesadilla, and failing that, binge-watches real-life crime documentaries.
